Pocket Guide: 1 Star Hotels in Cape Cod
If you’re travelling on a limited budget, there are one-star hotels throughout Cape Cod where you can make the most of this beautiful part of America’s East Coast.
Cape Cod on a Budget
If you stay in a one-star hotel in one of Cape Cod’s larger towns, you’ll have many of the peninsula’s attractions on your doorstep. One-star hotels in Hyannis put you a walk away from the John F Kennedy Hyannis Museum as well as the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame.
Get to know the peninsula by exploring the Cape Cod Rail Trail, a 22-mile path that makes excellent use of a disused railway line. Rent a bicycle and take a ride past ponds and through cooling forests. There are plenty of villages along the way where you can see some quaint colonial architecture, fascinating museums and old-fashioned Art Deco cinemas as well as drive-in movie theatres.
1 Star Hotels in Cape Cod
All around Cape Cod, you can find a good range of one-star hotels and motels, guesthouses and inns offering comfortable on a small budget. Choose a motel with an indoor pool and rooms that come kitchenettes so you can save on eating out. Even those without kitchenettes will usually feature microwaves, coffeemakers and fridges, and several of Cape Cod’s one-star hotels have outdoor pools as well.
Beaches in Cape Cod
There is a huge choice of beaches in Cape Cod – and that’s not even including the beaches on the nearby islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Start at the western end of the peninsula, in Falmouth, whose deeply indented coast hold long sandy beaches and rock pools and trundle along the coast.
As you continue eastwards, you’ll stumble upon beaches that suit every water activity. Some, such as Kalmus Beach in Hyannis and West Dennis Beach, are superb for windsurfing. For long walks, stroll along the sands of Chapin Memorial Beach in Dennis or Barnstable’s Sandy Neck Beach. Get away from the crowds in Provincetown’s tranquil Long Point Beach. Some beaches are especially suited for families, including Old Silver Beach in Falmouth. Surfers head to the crashing waves of White Crest Beach in Wellfleet.
