Why is my house or business at the wrong place on the map?

The places and addresses you find on our maps are positioned by latitude and longitude. Because of the difficulty of placing every location on a specific point using data with varied precision levels, some points may appear slightly off in relation to one another. Our cartographic team strives to create the most accurate maps possible, and appreciates hearing about any problems customers find with geographic data. Please send your comments and suggestions to us via our support form.

I can't find my address on the map. Can you add it?

The cartographic team regularly updates the maps on Expedia.co.uk. However, new information goes through a rigorous screening process that takes considerable time. We welcome your additions via our support form, but cannot guarantee that they will be integrated into the map.

Why did the route I asked for take me the long way?

Our driving directions are based on a set of rules designed to generate the most efficient route. We take distance, speed limit, road type, number of turns, and other criteria into consideration. But, because of unique road characteristics, sometimes a less-than-efficient route may be generated. If you discover such a route, please send us your Feedback.

Why can't I get driving directions in places other than North America?

In the near future, Expedia.co.uk will provide more detailed maps in Europe, which will allow you to get driving directions and maps of your routes in that part of the world.

What's a cookie? What happens if I delete my Expedia.co.uk cookie?

A cookie is a small amount of information that software programs and Web sites store on your computer. The cookie remembers your last search—in case you want to request the same map or route. So, when you return to the site, the location requested most recently appears on the input forms. The cookie also stores pointers to the maps and routes you've chosen to save on your My Maps & Routes page. Keep in mind that you cannot access your saved maps and routes if you delete the Expedia.co.uk cookie.

For more information about cookies, read our cookie FAQ.

Why do I get the message Server Too Busy?

This message indicates a temporary server problem. Try clicking your browser's Refresh/Reload button. If the problem persists, please wait a few minutes and then try again.

  • Unusually heavy online traffic is delaying the transmission of information.
  • The DNS (Domain Name Server) you're accessing is providing incorrect information.
  • Changes or maintenance in our data center may be temporarily preventing requests from reaching our servers.
