Staff very helpful
Stayed just one night here, staff switched rooms for me as the first one was close to AC vents outside the window - staff were very friendly and helpful.
Free Wifi always a plus and the use of a pool was great.

I would stay again!
The Silver Springs was a lovely hotel. We stayed with our children and was made to feel very welcome from the beginning. We were very pleased with our room, which was quite adequate in size for the four of us. It was very clean and had the necessary amenities, such as shower, haridryer, kettle etc. We had breakfast included in the price and im so glad we had made that choice. The food was lovely and in abundance. A definate must for anyone staying. The hotel restaurant was to a good standard, but a little on the pricey side. However, all service was to a good standard. The hotel is about a 10 min drive from the city, and the cab fare was 10 euro each way. The walk in to the city is not a very nice one. It is along a very busy highway, so not advisable...especially if you have children with you. It really is advisable to hire a car to keep the cost of your stay to a minimum. In all our stay at the hotel was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff on the reception were always extremely helpful and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It is a great choice for buisness and family breaks alike. We would definately stay there again!
The health club is about 8 minutes walk from the hotel...and not a very nice walk at that. It is up a few steep hills, so at least you get a warm up before you get there. Once there it has many things to offer and friendly staff on hand.

Modern hotel, great service
Not much to look at from the outside but the Silver Springs is a smart, modern and clean hotel set in large grounds on the outskirts of Cork. Our room was spacious and comfortable, if a little noisy from the main road-not a problem if it werent for the heatwave requiring windows to be wide open! Reception staff were all extremely helpful & friendly. Restaurant staff were all very friendly but quality of service varied! Breakfast was very good, although not all advertised options were avaiable. The evening menu & food was better than expected for a chain hotel but was let down by service & ambience - we had to ask 3 times for our wine & werent given correct menus initially. Transport is the only big issue - its about 10Euro for a taxi to the city centre & buses are either 5 mins walk and unreliable/infrequent or 15 mins very brisk walk up a steep hill (but cheap). If you want to explore Co. Cork by car it would be a great base as major routes are all nearby. If staying around the city, or using public transport, you might be better off more central.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
There is lots to see & do - take the City Tour bus which you can hop on and off to all main attractions. A day out to pretty Kinsale is a must, especially if you like seafood - theres even a coastal walk to work it off afterwards! Cork is full of history and only a short hop to other famous attractions such as Blarney.
