Can’t wait to go back
This is my fourth visit to the Balaia Golf Village. I always book a superior apartment and have not been disappointed yet. Have already booked for next year and hopefully will go a few times. The apartments are super clean and they have everything you need, the maids do a superb job. The reception staff are always helpful and cheerful.

Nice place, shame about staff!
Complex was lovely - pools and surroundings very attractive. Would recommend hiring a car as it was very difficult to get book a taxi, although it would only take between 15-20 mins to walk to the nearest restaurant/bar. Golf is for those who play regulary. Didn’t get to play golf as they would not allow children to play in trainers and without a full set of clubs each - they told us this after we had paid for a round! Reception staff were abrupt and sometimes quite rude to guests. We didn’t see a smile from the bar staff and the life guard had inconsistent standards!

Very pleased - would definitely go back
The Balaia golf resort was clean, well maintained and the customer service was excellent including the daily maid service. We had a couple of minor issues - tv remote not working, light bulbs out and a broken parasol, but on each occasion a call into reception and the onsite maintenance swiftly dealt with it. Swimmings pools and grounds were also very pleasant. Ideal location between Vilamoura and Albufeira. Would definitely go back
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Don’t miss: Zoomarine, beach at Falesia, Vilamoura marina, Silves castle, Loule and if you are staying between May and October the spectacular sand sculptures festival at Pera, do a visit in the day and again at night when it’s floodlit. And if you want a really nice supermarket/cafe Apolonia in Gale or Almancil is hard to beat....
