Decent place, poor service.
Fairy clean, my daughter did find peanuts on the floor in our room, though. Not enough towels in the room. It slept 4 and there were only 2 towels. We had go down and fetch more because no one would answer the phone. And, they ran out of towels in the small pool area. We requested a wake up call that never came, and the alarm clock wouldn’t work. Luckily I woke up on my own. The breakfast was satisfacory, but the room where they have it is very small and crowded. Staff was polite, but not very attentive.

Overall nice
We stayed one night in May 2009. Everything was very nice; workers were pleasant. Swimming pool was much nicer/bigger than expected as was breakfast. The only problems we had were 2 lukewarm/cool showers in the morning, and never receiving an extra bath towel that we requested. ( We were able to use an extra one from our son’s room.)

Great Hotel
We’ve had some really bad experiences with hotels in the past. However, staying here was above and beyond anything we could ever hope for. From the staff to location to free cookies... we were impressed and completely satisfied.

Disappointed
The room we reserved was not available, even though it was confirmed a few days eariler. Free internet did not work for most of our 3 day stay.

Comfortable, Friendly and Just Right
This is our second trip to the Bloomington area staying at this specific hotel. This time we were there for four days/three nights. I found every single person working at the hotel to be friendly and helpful. The property is well maintained and the rooms comfortable. They are also well sound-proofed! I know that there was a small tired (cranky) child in the room next to ours, and I never heard anything once doors were shut.

"This used to be a smoking room... didn’t it."
Ok the room was nice and recondtioned recently, but the bed top linens smelled of smoke. When I called the desk, they did not offer to move us, but I couldn’t be sure if there were rooms available. Breakfast was better than I expected and was replenished often. All was clean and teh service was very good.

Friendly Staff
The staff was very friendly and willing to help in any way necessary. We called and were able to check-in early. The breakfast was better than I have had before. The clerk was familiar with the surrounding area and the restaurants. We had a very nice stay.

Great value
We loved the breakfast! Beds were comfy. Our only complaints were that the room smelled a little bit like someone had smoked in it, even though the law has been in effect for over a year. Also the heater in the pool and whirlpool had broke and that was a big reason for selecting this hotel. My kids did play briefly around the pool. I would stay again when we are in town as long as the pool is heated.

Great hotel, but a few issues
Love this hotel..stay there every time I’m in town. However, their pillows leave much to be desired, as they are very soft and nonsupportive. Definitely remember to bring your own. Also, was told that the pool and hot tub would be open but they failed to mention that they would have just been refilled, and therefore very very cold. Couldn’t even get in either one, which was disappointing. But they did say we could go next door and use the Ramada ones if we wanted..however it was pouring and cold that weekend, so walking over there was not something we wanted to do. Other than that, love the convenience of the location right off the interstate and away from college area. Lots of restaurants and gas stations around, so convenient for any of that as well. Pretty good breakfasts too.

Comfortable hotel, cozy feeling
The hotel is very welcoming, a nice lobby with wooden staircase, comfy chairs and a fireplace. All of the staff, from the person who checked us in at 11pm to the woman running breakfast, were extremely kind and courteous. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. Small workout room was good, pool would have been nice but they were doing repairs so it was closed down. Close to shopping, restaurants, expressway and ten minutes from heart of ISU campus. Very nice!

Pool
The pool was closed but this was not noted on Hotels.com. They did offer to let us go to another hotel that did have a pool. Don’t know why but the hotel was not very busy on this weekend?????

pool closed HBO shut off
I was not notified that the pool would be closed for maintenance and then early in the morning they shut off access to HBO.

Over paid for pool
I paid alot to stay in a hotel with a pool for my children and the pool was closed they should have had that posted. Also they said we could go next door to their pool nice but it was snowing outside with ice on the ground. I wouldn’t take my kids out after swimming with wet hair. They hotel was lovely and beds so comfortable, with a great breakfast. But was really upset about the pool. Which was the only reason it was picked in the first place.

Outstanding for the level/price of the hotel
I’m driving across the country, so I just needed a place to rest and then continue my journey. Based on these needs, the hotel was awesome. The room was tidy - the heating unit worked and was quiet - and the staff was very friendly. I was not bothered with noise a single time. The most telling part that this hotel was awesome was simply that it was unmemorable. Nothing is worse than having a trip encumbered with shoddy accomodations. Country Inn excelled for me because it had no issues. There were other anmeties at the hotel but I did not use them.

Overall value
We needed a place to crash on the way and on the return from a trip. This worked well for us. The beds were comfortable. The micro and frdge in room might have been helpful on another trip. The breakfast included eggs, sausauge, waffles and other standards. The crib both nights had either loose or missing screws but all else seemed in good order.

Friendly counter service; clean, inviting room. THE most comfortable bed ever! Delicious,free Chocolate chip cookies! I will always stay at this motel when I’m in Bloomington/Normal,IL.

Great Hotel, Great Price
We had a great time... nice clean room, good breakfast, and the kids LOVED the hot cookies in the lobby! We will definitely stay there again! Great for families! GREAT DEAL!
