Long weekend in St.Pete
Just back from St.Petersburg, a place I know well having studied there in the mid-90’s. We stayed at the Renaissance Saint Petersburg Hotel (part of the Mariott chain). Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the hotel was very helpful. They arranged an early check-in for us which was very important as we arrived early in the morning (around 8am) and we didn’t want to be hanging around in the lobby with our bags for several hours. Location is good too, just next to St.Isaac’s cathedral and about 10 mins walk from Palace Square and Nevsky Prospect.

It was fabulous!
We were scared to be in such an exotic city, but felt immediately at home. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English was excellent. They took such good care of us; arranged for taxis, tour guides, everything. I recommend it so highly to anybody who wants a "home" while in St. Petersburg.

great location
excellent value for room rate and location. suggest you go across the square to the Astoria or Angelterre Hotels for breakfast.
