The "square" that the hotel is on is not the center of Falmouth...the main shopping and dining areas are a short walk away, which was ended up being fine for us given the fair weather that we had during our stay. Our room was in the "cottage" building (which I was disappointed to learn upon check-in as I had read about the odor issues in other posts). Although the hallways of the building have a pungent odor, the smell never carried over into our room. Be advised that the cottage building rooms are clean, but tight, just enough room for the beds and a desk. The only other services we used were the free wi-fi and the free continental breakfast. The wi-fi worked fine and was convenient, however, breakfast was another story. The quantity and types of food were what we expected, but the cleanliness of the dining area left much to be desired. Although there was an attendant at breakfast, the tables and chairs were always dirty (covered in food crumbs), the garbage cans overflowing and the water from the hot water pot looked and tasted like diluted coffee. Was a little surprised since our room was well maintained...

Good location, needs to sharpen up.

On arrival we were greeted by the employee of the month, who was a little dismissive, as we were interrupting her doing whatever she was doing. Later we were helped by a young man on the front desk, who gave us all the information we needed, and helped correct our initial poor impression. We were given a room in the annex or cottage, and were a little concerned as we had read these rooms could be musty, but we were met by a waft of air freshener, and the room was OK on this score. The room was nicely furnished, and comfortable, but for me, the bedding and pillows were just too soft. Our room was on the ground floor, and we found it noisy, as we could hear constant noise in the evening and early morning from everyone else’s plumbing, it was really loud, and the water battering on the shower stall in the room above woke me earlier than I wanted. The continental breakfast was average, but what bothered me a little was that the breakfast bar attendant was a stranger to wipes, she left the area littered in crumbs and spilt milk, despite comments from one or two of us. She just stood there looking at the mess, and had plenty of time to do something about it. We did not see any management checking over things anywhere. Perhaps for the price, we should have had a little better. The location was good, and all facilties were available.

Get a room in the main building, maybe the plumbing is quieter.

Nice hotel, decent price but lacks a restaurant

Very comfy hotel with a great location. The park and ride to the ferry terminal is walking distance from the hotel so no need to drive and pay for parking. The hotel offers free continental breakfast but doesn’t have a restaurant so you will have to venture out for food.
