Not a tourist hotel
Good hotel with excellent breakfast included. Rather misleading description about location, as the hotel is on a retail/car dealership park about 4 miles outside Cambridge, and there are no public transport facilities locally, so tourists will have to drive into Cambridge and pay for parking!

A solid performer
Exactly what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Clean, tidy, modern, reasonable service (though not particularly friendly!), and competitively priced. A few gripes: Firstly, there was only one lift and it was the slowest lift in the history of lifts. Also, the price of drink in the hotel bar was daylight robbery, verging on extortionate. Finally, it is located a bit out of Cambridge itself, so not really handily located if you are planning on heading into town at all. Youll need a car or a taxi.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Handy for Cambridge Airport, but not really anything else. Bit stuck out in the middle of nowhere.

Clean and tidy
We wanted a bed for a couple of nights at a reasonable rate. This hotel was able to provide our request. Very new & had all the basic necessities. However the first room we were given had a slight leak to the toilet which looked as though it had been leaking for some time due to stain on wall under bowl & there was water round the edge of the toilet area which made it a bit smelly. However when we complained they did give us another room which was fine. The drinks at the bar were very expensive. Breakfast was buffet style continental. Good variation & plenty of it. The hotel was about 2 miles o/s town in a very quiet location. No real complaints, it gave us what we wanted.
Loch Fyne restaurant, Cambridge. A first class sea food restaurant. Excellent menu & service.
