Perfect location for Docklands and O2

Hotel met my expectations. Comfortable, clean rooms and not too noisy. Breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. No restaurant but staff will order local takeaways with free delivery. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. I booked this hotel because I was attending a convention at the O2 Arena and it took me just 20 mins to get there via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Jubliee line on the Underground from Limehouse station, which is just 5 mins walk from the hotel. Canary Wharf takes about 15 mins and central London is easy as well.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

A bit further out from Docklands but much better value than many equivalent standard hotels. Public transport links very good.

Could do better!

Although in general we (three couples on a weekend theatre break) were quite well pleased with the hotel, the bar was very poorly stocked. On our first evening of our two-night stay, the one blend available of Scotch Whisky almost ran out and the vodka did run out. The barman, though very polite and convivial, did not seem to know if there was more of these spirits in storage and did nothing to ascertain this, though we settled for beers instead. However, the next evening the apparent stock situation of these spirits was unchanged and one of my friends elected to have a single whisky as there was clearly not enough for a large measure. The barman ( a different one from the previous evening) did not offer him ’the barman’s nip’ - the remainder in a bottle short of a full measure which , in Scotland, is almost traditionally offered free to the customer ordering the last full measure. We joked with him about it but he clearly was inexperienced and did not catch on to our good-humoured promptings. Again he did nothing to ascertain if more was in storage. I therefore had a beer instead then adjourned elsewhere!!! Despite this we would use the hotel again but drink elsewhere!!!! Continental breakfast was very satisfactory.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Don’t use the bar!!!

Good value for money v clean and quiet hotel in good location

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. A little tricky to find and to enter since it’s on a very busy road. On site carparking charged at £10 a day and had plenty of spaces. It’s worth paying since there are no carparks nearby. Very clean hotel, looks newly refurbished. Rooms are a good size with good bathrooom. Rooms were quiet with good double glazing to cut out traffic noise. I’m a very light sleeper, but found the whole hotel very quiet a night, with no noise from corridor or outside. Fantastic power shower, really pleasant. Great location - 5 mins from Limestreet Underground and 2 stops to Bank on DLR (10 mins). The only negative about this hotel is disappointing breakfast. It’s got a "continental breakfast" which just consists of tea/coffee, fruits/yoghourts/cereals bread/croisants. In most hotels in Europe, you would also get a selection of hams, cheeses, salads etc to put on your rolls, bread. So thumbs down to the breakfast. Other than the poor breakfast, the rest of the hotel makes up for a recommended hotel.
