You have dial 0 for ice!
Dial 0 for ice to be brought to your room. Do not go to the front desk with an ice bucket! You will get a dirty look from the guy behind the desk.
Park in the ramp across the street its $20.00 to park overnight.

Just Okay
We stayed in the Grand hotel for a weekend away from the kids. The room was nice although there were not aveda products like the description said. It was some other brand - not the same quality as aveda. The bathrooms were great. Huge tub with a TV above it and it was nice that the toliet was in a separate area than the sink area. If we were to go downtown again, I would probably sacrifice the swankiness like the huge bathroom and bathrobes for a hotel that had a breakfast bar. During the weekends, there arent many places around to eat before dinner which we didnt know before our trip. Very few restuarants opened for lunch and we only saw a Brueggers that was open for breakfast. They do offer a small room service breakfast, but its a little pricey for what you get. Parking was great. We didnt use our car so it sat in the parking garage fri-sun and the total charge was $5. Overall, it was an ok experience.

Lovely hotel - would stay there any time
The Grand Hotel used to be the Athletic Club, and is decorated with AC memorabilia, including - in my bathroom - a typed 1915 letter asking how payment for the buildings cornerstone ($48) was going to be made. These clever touches, together with the extreme comfort of the rooms and thoughtfulness of the amenities, make this not only a pleasant, but a luxurious place to stay. A Lifetime Fitness gym is in the building, along with a pleasant restaurant, cheerful room service, an attractive ground floor bar and attentive concierge assistance. I cant think of a single thing thats missing. The room decor is low-key but ultra-luxurious. Staring at the pale curtains in my room, I suddenly realized that they were lined silk shantung, and just exquisite. I couldnt have been happier there, and would return any time Im in Minneapolis. Thanks, Expedia, for offering a great rate at a truly terrific hotel!
