decent hostel hotel for the low price
nothing fancy. the family room had bunk beds and two singles that we put together. bathroom was very clean with nice hot water. it’s very basic but then you don’t spend much time in a hotel room in berlin anyway. near public transport and the neighborhood is great.
eat at the many persian/ turkish imbiss around berlin. a lot in kreuzberg. they’re really good, cheap and filling.

Smelly bathroom spoils it
The hostel was fine, but a bit overpriced considering that we stayed on the top (4th) floor with no lift. There was a terrible smell in the bathroom coming from the shower, but I doubt that this problem is in all the rooms, we may have been unlucky with our room. Other than that it was everything one would expect from a hostel, we were most thankfull for the laundry. There are even bicycles for rent. During the weekend we visited Berlin there was the Berlin Marathon and it was during the IAAF Athletics, so it is possible that we paid more than would normally be the case.
There is a Lidl supermarket next to the hostel, so very usefull to get some groceries.

Great location-top atmosphere
Stayed with my teenage children, felt really welcome and safe. Staff were very helpful. Location was superb-loved the area; loads of cheap (and vegetarian!) places to eat and drink....Would go back.
buy your beer from the shop and chill out in the park by Ostkreuz station
