Repeat Abbaye Guest
This is the sixth time that we’ve stayed at the Abbaye when in the Haute Savoie region. What a wonderful hotel and location. The Abbaye has everything you need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Good resturant and the staff is wonderful and very helpful. Set on the banks of Lake Annecy, it’s just a beautiful location. Court yard is very relaxing. You’ll enjoy an evening walk around the small village of Talloires. Nearby Annecy is one of our favorite spots in France just 20 minutes away.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
If you are a hiker, the area around L’Abbaye offers some excellant hikes. Of course you have the mountain hike La Tournette that overlooks the Lake Annecy and the beginning of the French Alps. Drive to the small village of Thones and stop in at the visitor center for a map of the available hikes in the nearby area. Lots to pick from.

Did not want to leave
L’Abbeye had charm, history, uniqueness, quality, peace and quiet, a beautiful garden located at the water’s edge (Lake D’Annecy), in a quaint, friendly, flower-filled village of Talloires,, with hikes to a waterfall, drive up to a panoramic view of the lake and the snow-covered French Alps, and is just down the block from the world-renowned cuisine of Auberge du Pere-Bise. When can we go back?!
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Lake Annecy has hop on, hop off boat rides, dinner cruises, etc. Paragliding is very popular. Hikes to beautiful scenes. One and half hours to Chamonix with a tram ride up to Mount Blanc, the tallest mountain in the French Alps is spectacular!
