A great hotel in a great location
This hotel was a little gem. It was very ornate and beautifully appointed. I will say the bathrooms were typically VERY small but well appointed and nice. The location was very quiet in the Jewish Section of Venice. there were lots of great little restaurants and shops close by. The breakfast that was included was good but not extensive. They had a lovely bar.

Will stay again next time
Nice bath, clean, good size room for Europe. good service, concierge was very helpful. - The hotel is away from the main tourist areas and quiet. The Hotel is a short walk to the Vaporetto and several good restaurants. All the action is 10 minutes away. If your not familiar with Venice, get transport from the airport to the hotel prearranged, its expensive but worth it. Hotel breakfast was pretty good but limited for American tastes.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Stay away from the tourist areas as much as possible during the height of the day and seek out the locals. Walk around at night and check out the local hangouts and restaurants.Buy a vaporreto pass and visit the islands.Spend at least 3 or 4 days and walk everywhere.

Lovely, Peaceful Hotel
Our stay at Hotel ai Mori dOrient was a dream come true and a great value for Venice in the high season. For those who want a peaceful rest in the midst of sometimes too busy Venice, this is the place to book. Readers who want to be in the heart of St. Marks will not like the location (although it is only a twelve minute or so stroll) but for those who want an authentic Venetian neighborhood and a haven from the crush of tourists, this is the perfect place. The elegant hotel is on a quiet, pretty canal with fabulous wine bars and restaurants close by, and within short walking distance to the Rialto Bridge, St. Marks and several Vaparetto stops. We cant wait to return.
