Fantastic and friendly!
I had to pass through Colonia on the way back from a business trip to Montevideo. I was happy I did, in the end! The Colony Park Plaza Unique Hotel is also a spa resort. The rooms are gorgeous, the hotel fantastic to walk around. The staff were so helpful. I swam in both the indoor and outdoor pools, and in fact, though I had to check out, the staff let me us the pool until the end of that day! Colonia centre was a 30 minute walk away, down the river. I would definately go back to this relaxing spa hotel!!

Used to be elegance
Hotel was out of date. The bath was extremely small and the sink faucet was set to overflow the sink so there was constantly water everywhere - bad design. The room was all right although linens were very thin. The staff were extremely nice, but disorganized so service was very slow for everything. Uruguay is obviously not a rich country and this may have been typical - not exactly a 4-star hotel. The Spa appeared quite nice and well-used by travelers from the surrounding region. Hotel is a distance from the Historic area where we wanted to be.

Wonderfull hotel, wonderful view
The personnel of the hotel is superb,friendly, active smiling, attentive. Why we rated the comfort of the room so low, is that it was located not far from a room with fire place and some time of the night some guests congregated there. They were not exactly quiet. One phone call to the front desk solved that problem though, pretty quickly.
