great relaxing time
we had a wonderful stay at coco bay during laborday week. the resort was only 17% full which made it better for us because we were there for rest and relaxation. beach was very nice and snorkling from the beach was good. all staff were very friendly and helpful. even though they did not have buffett because of the occupancy the alacarte was very good. we are planning on going back to this resort in the futere. playadelcarma is only a short walk away and lots of places very reasonable to eat.

Just got back
August 12th-17th. My girlfriend and I arrived early, around 12p and check-in was a breeze. The view from the beach was breathtaking and for a few moments we just stood there and stared, even if there were a lot of boats anchored in front of the hotel. The food was good, but pool bar and pool close early. One thing that bothered me is how deserted the place was. My girlfriend and I are a young couple and very social, but there was hardly anyone to talk to. It wasnt too bad for us because we were out most of the days, but I couldnt imagine being at the hotel all day as empty as it was. On some nights, we would sit by the beach and listen to a small portable radio we had and drink beer and Pina Coladas and relax to the sounds of the waves and we were the only ones there. We never ate at the two specialty restaurants because we were always out, but I hear they are really good. There is a gentleman named Lorenzo that works at the travel office whom wed like to thank for all his help in finding activities and advice. He was wonderful so dont hesitate to go see him if youre staying at the hotel. Id also like to thank Abelardo at the pool bar for always taking care of us and the rest of the bartenders and crew at the hotel. Please remember to take $1 bills for tipping. These guys work really hard and a tip is always appreciated. Overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend anyone to visit the Grand Coco Bay keeping in mind the things that I just mentioned.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
There are so many things to do that its hard to decide. We took a cab to Xcaret and loved it. Also the whale shark tour was great, a little pricey, but worth the experience. We did this through EcoColors Tours and our guide, Alberto and our captain Abel were great. Also, the party boat and snorkeling at Cozumel was a lot of fun. A good place to eat is El Fogon, mostly local people go there and its not the nicest restaurant, but the food is good and inexpensive.
