beautiful spa
The Hacienda was very nice and the staff were great. The hotel was very quiet. There seemed to be very few guests. If you are looking for fun and want to meet people at the pool or bar it may not be the place for you. Great pool on Spa rooftop. You can have it to yourself!

Great hotel for R&R
Hotel was clean, quiet, safe and well equiped. The hotel was beautiful and has everything you need. The restaurants are great. The only disadvantage is that the beach and downtown are not in walking distance. It is also a bit hard to find at first. The staff is very helpfull and the place was empty. I would highly recomend this hotel for anyone.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Pros and cons
Pros: The hotel is tugged deep inside a country club community. You are surrounded by golf club and quiet streets. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place to be. Cons: The hotel is actually not in Playa del Carmen but Playacar. It talks a brisk 20 minutes to walk to Playa del Carmen. The walk is quite pleasant. But at night, bring a flashlight or you are likely to get lost in the maze-like community. The hotel has no elevator. If you are leaving or arriving outside regular hours, theres no one help you with your luggage. When we asked the front desk to call us a cab to go to the airport, we were asked to pay upfront 750 pesos. Later we discovered the cab driver got paid 350 pesos. The hotel took more than half of the taxi fair. I find it hard to believe its a common practice.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Bring flashlight at night if you plan on walking to anywhere outside the hotel.
