Not exactly what it says on the tin

We booked a family room - always an issue as hotels either dont cater for 2 adults/2 kids in same room or the rooms are generally located in the worst bits of the hotel and our room at Marks was no exception. First the good bits: Central location Parking close by Decent sized room Comfortable beds - 2 double beds and a proper single bed (not the usual sofa bed as per holiday inn express etc) And the not so good bits: Overpowering decor in public areas - (covering every available surface with a floral wallpaper does not make a boutique hotel) Rooms at the back of hotel (ours in this case) have small windows and look onto the back of a brick building - when booking ask for a room overlooking Bath street as they have large full height windows. Bathroom smelled, could do with an update - shower was over bath. Breakfast room has no windows therefore dark and depressing. Breakfast was very average and only barely edible. If you intend to have breakfast make sure its included with the room rate otherwise it will cost £15 per person - better off going to Starbucks. Overall its not a bad hotel - its just not the 4 star boutique hotel as advertised. If price is an issue go book a budget hotel and save some money - at least you wont expect anything more than you get.

great location

Great city centre hotel, however parking is a bit overpriced. The hotel have a deal with the car park located within buchanan galleries, however if you have a lot of luggage you may want to get dropped off with that 1st as it`s a wee bit of a walk. Staff were all very friendly, room was very nice but a bit on the small side. Overall a nice city centre hotel. Close to sauchiehall st shopping precinct and plenty places around the hotel to eat.

Excellent

the Marks hotel is a pleasant surprise. Location is fabulous - right in the city centre. Hotel rooms are spacious, clean and decor is contemporary. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is nearby (at a very good subsidised rate) so the only small drawback is having to drop off luggage then go and park the car elsewhere. Will definitely go back - we had a great stay
