Super!
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Villa La Tour for one night in late September. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the room was very nice. We were surprised to find air conditioning and a very modern bathroom. Great location in the old part of the city. We would definitely stay here again.

Great old world feel hotel
My wife and I loved the Villa La Tour and will stay there again when we return to Nice, and we definitely plan to. Let me qualify this before continuing though. If you are looking for marble bathrooms, and a large room with a sea view, this isnt the place for you. If you are looking for charm -that really is the best word for it- and old world hospitality, then this is the place for you. We were looking for that, and were not disappointed. We arrived after 5 hours of train travel quite tired and just wanting to check in. The desk manager greeted us warmly, and offered a glass of a local wine and a seat at an antique leather sofa in the lobby as she took down passport and other information. She also directed us in use of bus and other transport locally to get around. Ive been told again and again how rude the french are, and again and again while in France found that to be patent nonsense. Villa La Tours staff was friendly and genuinely warm. The room made me think I had travelled back in time 100 years, with shutters opening onto an old city street with cafe tables. Bathroom was small but thats Europe. The bed was simple but VERY comfortable and I slept soundly. I definitely would visit here again.

Never again!
We were so disappointed on arrival at the hotel as it was nothing like the pictures on the internet! We could hardly believe that the reviews we had read related to this hotel! Whether we just had the worst room in the hotel I dont know, but it was so small as to be claustrophobic. I also enjoyed having wet newspaper bombs thrown at me one night on my way home from a neighbouring building. The only positive side was the staff who were so very nice. If I went again Id stay in the new area of Nice as the old town was not quaint & endearing as these areas tend to be. Id advise someone not to bother staying here even if you wanted a cheaper hotel!
