Nice value and great location
Nice newer hotel and well located. A block to the subway and a short walk to many restaurants. A nice value for the money. Only possible drawback: there are some bars and clubs nearby. So, we did hear some late night music from our room.

Wed go back, for sure
The hotel is located at the end of a strip of cute bars, coffee shops and restaurants. The area is pretty lively at night. Next to subways and public transportation. It has a cute bar/sitting area in the lobby, but we never tried it. Everything is clean and orderly. Ask for a room facing the street, as it could be fun to watch what is going on outside. I didnt, but wish I had. There is some kind of club that starts techno/house music around 1pm (in the middle of our sleeping hours) and ends around 5pm. It was pretty loud and kept us up. But, it wasnt so bad that we wouldnt stay there again. The staff isnt very helpful answering tourist-type questions. For example, we were waiting for our room to be available on our first day in Berlin. We asked, "What is easy to get to that we should go see while we wait?" The hotel clerk replied, "Well, nothing really." hmmm... But, she did provide a good map and we figured it out ourselves.

Bohemian chic
Ten minutes walk from the Friedrichstrasse station in a louche but agreeable city area, the Arcotel is crisp and efficient. Everything works, its comfortable and the staff are bright, informative and welcoming. We only ate breakfast there but the restaurant looked inviting, with a good wine stock.
Traveller's tip on dining
Brechts and Ganymed on the Schiffbauerdamm. Food very good in both; service at the Ganymed needs a sharp prod in the backside. Watch the boats and the trains from the outdoor tables.
