Hotel Hetman

Will go back but area needs more bars and restaurants

Having said that the Hotel missed oppertunities by not having the bar and restaurant open at any time after breakfast during our stay We managed one drink on the first night but only when we asked at the reception first in fairness the staff didn’t refuse us when asked but was a tad disappointed when their reason for not providing a full service was due to a pre-booked wedding party Fair enough but would the addition of an extra member of staff to run the bar and make it welcoming have really broke the bank The two we found operated at either end of the price barrier Fusion Restaurant all you could eat for 29zlty beer reasonably priced but separate and straight across from the Hetman The other Porto Praga very very classy but definitely not cheap There has been some investment in the area at large but more is needed We did a good trawl of the area and if there were any more bars around then no lights were on Having said that able to walk around at night when dark Transport links to the Old Market Town were very good and frequent also from 100yards from hotel entrance and cheap and also fully integrated of course Overall the staff were a credit to the hotel friendly smiling answered questions politely Breakfast was good and plentiful and recommended Also the timescale did not inconvenience those guests who preferred a more leisurely morning Standards of cleanliness were high as was the overall fabric of the hotel

The Old Market Town is a must to visit and meander around They really have done a brilliant job in rebuilding from nothing short of chaos One tip though if you find yourself in the Old Square itself you can’t miss it it has a number of cafes which spill out onto the precincted areas be warned the cost of a cappucino is high Think Venice and St Marks Square, and you get the picture Friendly staff though, as all the Polish people we came in contact with!

Comfortable Hotel within easy reach of the old town

We spent three nights at the Hotel Hetman .The Hotel is very comfortable, good sized bedrooms with a large modern bathroom. Breakfasts , a large variety of hot and cold food on offer. We had a front bedroom, the noise of the traffic on the cobbled street kept us awake, even though the room was double glazed. I would recommend earplugs. Overall we were pleased with the location, it takes a five minute walk to the tram stop then about ten minutes on the frequent trams to the old town. The Hotel is close to the zoo, and a large shopping centre nearby. we would recommend to friends.

Good place to say

A nice place to stay. Very nice people working at hotle and all of them spoke english. Good deal. it was a good 20 minute walk to the Old and New Town but only one tram stop away.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Check out Old and New Twon and the Royal Route. Very good place to go and comparable in prices in US at the moment.
