Great place to stay when visiting Newport
This is a beautiful hotel on the main road into Newport, within minutes of downtown and the mansions. The large room had free internet service, refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast room was large, beautifully decorated with high ceilings. Lots of free parking, and parking is a premium in the area.

excellent hotel with great service and exceptional rooms
Thus was our last night in US and having staed at a somewhat disappointing hotel for the two preceding nights this was a real tonic. rooms were exceptionally spacious and the staff at reception could not have been more helpful in pointing out local things to see and do. I woulkd definitely choose Hampton Suites again, here or in another place.
Most people will visit the mansions in Newport and that’s fine. Breakers was great with a good audio tour guide. the Tennis Hall of Fame was very good - we are tennis fans - but others should find interest here too. The restautants down in the harbour area are good - we went to the Old Mooring and had great fish - but pretty noisy on a Friday night .

Nice hotel, but prefer non-smoking
Was upset that we reserved a non-smoking room and ended up with a smoking room. Hampton Inn stated that they never received confirm/reservations from Expedia regarding this.
