Could not be avoided.
Just driving through West Memphis makes one feel that somehow the scum from the area is contagious and somehow taints some of one’s remaining innocence. This overnight travel stop could not be avoided, however. I expected the crime, noise, mosquitos and a scummy hotel due to previous travel experiences. I didn’t expect to be delayed an hour and a half because the incompetent staff could not get the door to 2 rooms open before finally gaining access to the 3rd room.

Very Nasty Hotel!!
Upon arriving @ the hotel which was @ 11:30am, we asked when we could check in, she said @ 1pm, we told her we would be back. We got back to the hotel @ 1:10pm, she said that our room would be ready in 10 min..@ 2:05 we asked when we could get our room, she said it’s ready except for the hand towels. When we got inside the room it had not been cleaned...the floors were not sweep or mopped, mold was on the shower curtain, toenail clippings were beside the toilet..(we took pictures),although the bed was clean. I went to the front desk and she said no housekeeping was on @ this time. My husband went to go take a shower and there were no washclothes, (again go to the front desk). The next morning I had to go to the front desk again and ask for towels, she said they had none cause the laundry person had not come in today (that was @ 9:30am). Over all this was a nasty hotel.We left the next morning as fast as we could.

Bring Slippers
The floors of my room left so much grime on my feet that, after I took a shower, I had to wash them again before I put on my shoes, and drying off after either one was difficult, as there were no full-sized towels in the room. But, what really got me is that Housekeeping needs to find out who’s checking out by asking the front desk, not by waking up customers.
