Definitely a four star property

This hotel did not disappoint in terms of location, facilities or service. It is suitable for business as well as leisure travellers. The rooms are spacious (morethan 30 square meters) and clean but there are signs that it is due for upgrade to make it even more special. Overall, we were very happy that we chose to stay here and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends who want good value for their money. The spa is not up to expectation, though as we have been to and seen many good spas in the region. The quality of massage and treatment can definitely be improved. The loud and distracting music coming from the aerobics centre nearby is very annoying when one is trying to relax and enjoy the massage.

Most noteworthy of course is Borobudur and Prambanan temples which all visitors must see. The Kraton in Jogja is worth a visit but the palace in Solo is a great disappointment. Be sure to check that it is open to the public before you leave for Solo (one and a half hours away) otherwise you will end up wasting your day.

Excellent location in City

Possibly the best hotel choice in Jogja, clean, well maintained, attentive staff. Negotiate transfer to airport to equivalent price charged from airport to City. Adequate restaurant with wide range of food choices. Drinks expensive.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Visit Borobudor Temple Complex, negotiate transport. Attend Ramayana Ballet/Opera evening. Beware of gouge by transfer operator who quotes per transaction and then charges per person. Negotiate transfer to airport to equivalent price charged from airport to City.

Very nice place to stay

Beautiful hotel. We stayed on the executive floor (6th floor) which was only a few dollars more. They had free internet, a lounge, and food in the afternoon. The room was very nice and quiet with a view of the pool and gardens. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The coffee shop/restaurant is good with a nice buffet for most meals. There is a chinese restaurant also. The spa has all the usual things available, also quite reasonable. The location of the hotel in Yogyakarta is good, about a mile from the Kraton. We didn’t explore the city at all this trip.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Arrange for a car and driver to take you to the different sites in the area. There is a travel agent in the hotel (not part of the hotel) that can set it up. The cost was less than going by tour bus and you can stay as long as you want. There are guides available at the major attractions (Borobudur and Prambanan) for about $5.
