world traveller
no AC for a a 4 star hotel. no decent vewntilation system. air was stagnant and claustrophobic. no wonder the plague occured 700 years ago. otherwise staff was great. people were so cheerful.close to downtown but far from the lake.

stay in Villach. it is cheaper and more things to do. also it is an easy dive to many alpine lakes and alpine trails. we stayed in Villach and Klagenfurt. We sould have just stayed in Villach. Now that is beautiful.

Good Location, Good Value
Except for a heat wave in Central Europe, which in a room without air conditioning was a bit hard, this was a very nice hotel and very convenient to the town center and train station.

Good, but...
A quality hotel, centrally situated, which provides free parking right outside. The one-way system to get to the entrance is however complicated - we had to park nearby then ask at reception how to get there. Only disappointment was after having booked breakfast for 2 and being asked to pay immediately, my wife was unwell overnight, and unable to eat. Although advised first thing in the morning that only one breakfast would be required,the hotel was not prepared to refund cost, or even part offset the cost of a bottle of water which we had to use from the mini-bar during the night.
