Highly recommend for an affordable price
This hotel isn’t exactly like a hotel. It’s more like a motel. The room is okay, but the complimentary breakfast: donuts and coffee, is awesome. Very affordable price for a hotel just 2 minutes walk away from UC Berkeley campus. The other hotels on Durant Ave and Bancroft are way more expensive. So, if you have a tight budget, then this should be the place.

Stay Here If You Like a Little Character
This is what you’d call charming. The innkeeper (that’s what I’d call him) is great, helpful and friendly. The hotel is right next to UC Berkeley, so the area is very Bohemian, a good place for shopping and eating (though they have plenty of name brand chains if that is your thing). Parking was $10. The room was OK. The furnishings were shabby (not shabby chic), but it was clean and comfortable. If you are like my sister and require the comfort of the large chain hotels, this is not the place for you. But if you like a little character and culture, stay here. And the Indian place in the lobby of the hotel has awesome food.
