Excellent Base for a City Break in Istanbul
Excellent location for Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Aghia Sophyia, Topkhapi Palace and Basillica. Comfortable hotel but the rooms have limited wardrobe and drawer storage. Rooftop terrace restaurant has good but limited menu. Numerous local cafes and restaurants, especially on main road. Hotel pool is small and activity centre has only a limited range of gym equipment.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Use the Tram, Bus, Taxis or walk to the main tourist attractions (which are not too far away). All planned tour companies use minibus pickups from hotel lobby and subsequent transfers (wasting valuable time).

Not a bad place to stay
The President is well situated in the old city, walking distance to most places. THough its situated at the top of a steep hill- not for the unfit! We enjoyed our stay here the room was comfortable and reasonably spacious. We had a room at the front on the 4th floor- fine but noisy especially early monring prayer call. THe roof terrace is very pleasant to escape to after sight seeing and walking
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Blue mosque worth seeing . Tokapi place worth the time- do go the Harem -though it will cost extra. The audio tour is worth paying though 2 can share.

Great hotel
Our second visit and loved it as much as the first time. Very comfortable and quite modern but has a warm and cosy feel. Lovely breakfast in restaurant with great views. Great location near Grand Bazaar, walking distance to the mosques, near tram stop.
Try to walk and use public transport to get around as taxi drivers drive like maniacs and often have no seat belts in the back.
