Not For Me

I stayed for one night. The room smelt very strange on first entering and remained that way. There were carpet stains, wall stains, rusting pipes in the bathroom, a broken kettle, and the previous guest’s wine bottles remained outside my room for the duration of my stay. Right outside the room window hung exposed bundles of wiring, and the window opened onto these as well as a flat roof - no safety catch on window so surely rather dangerous. The room was quite large and was quiet, but the blankets appear to be circa-1970. In the morning I tried the shower, but when I turned it on, water shot out of the very top of the shower head (it had a number of cracks in it), hit the bathroom ceiling, tracked along the ceiling and dripped rapidly onto the bathroom floor. Had I got into the shower before turning it on I may not have realized this and could quite easily have flooded the bathroom. Breakfast was not good at all - undercooked eggs, stewed coffee, burnt black pudding - but I just wanted to leave, so I didn’t bother complaining. Some of the staff seemed in good spirits and fairly competent, others were clearly both incapable and untrained.

Mecure Last Drop Village

Hotel has deterioated with damp in rooms and poor bar service. In addition the village is not as it was and needs a good refurbishment as does the hotel Spa had poor working facilities. We had to move room because of damp, faulty shower, water leaks from toilet. 2nd room not much better as we had to plug in the bedside lamps as no switches and also damp in room Staff pleasent and tried hard to please food from Bistro was good. No sign of Management or any offer of recompense. Very dissapointed
