Great spot in Nice
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 1 week. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English, which was great. There were a couple computers downstairs and free internet access from the rooms. The location was only about 3 blocks from Promenade des Anglais and quiet. I was a bit surprised by the pool/gym area, which was not as nice or large as the pictures make it seem, but it wasn’t a big deal. I’d stay here again!
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Get a tour, maybe from Med Tour...Definitely great for seeing a bunch of attractions and having transportation. Also, if you want to walk up Castle Hill, it closes around 7 p.m., so you have to go earlier. We learned the hard way.

Superb location
The Goldstar Resort is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in for a city break. The location is superb being able to walk to all the important tourist spots. It has convenient car parking -albeit expensive - but we had already checked by telephone and knew the costs. The room was clean and spacious, quiet, and the kitchenette proved to be very useful. The bed was extremely comfortable! In all a very pleasant 5 night stay.
Try not to hire a car. The train station is 5 mins walk from the Goldstar resort and trains run to all the great towns/cities east and west of Nice - ie Cannes, Antibe, Villefranche, Monaco Monte Carlo, Ventimillia

We would stay here again
I stayed at the Goldstar during August 2009 with my partner and 2 year old son. The hotel was everything the website said it would be. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. Our suite was spotless, comfy, spacious and the bed plenty big enough for the 3 of us, as my son decided he didn’t want to sleep in his blow up bed. The pool area was also great for children as there was a large shallow area for toddlers and just over the road there was a park with a play area. A hotel in Nice with parking is also a bonus
