Par excellence; nothing less!
We had just ended a six week tour of Italy and needed a place to re-pack as well as to gather our sagging spirits and scattered wits. We stayed two days at the San Gallo and the experience was glorious. Huge, immaculate and beautifully color-coordinated rooms. Lovely furniture and well-equipped spacious bathrooms. A plentiful supply of hot water and toiletries. Excellent bedding. A happy, gracious and helpful staff. Am I using superlatives to describe this peaceful haven and its staff? Yes! Absolutely! Our stay there was nothing short of a joyous experience. We send our profound aloha to all of them and will never forget the experience.

Wonderful Hotel
We stayed at the San Gallo Palace for two weekday nights in late September. Although away from the main sights-it was worth it in terms of value, comfort and peacefulness. Easy, simple stroll through real neighborhoods to Duomo. Our room even had a small sun trap balcony. The staff were very good as well as being friendly. Bed comfortable and you can choose the type of pillow you want.Good lighting in rooms for reading and air conditioning work very well. Nice full breakfast buffet with excellant choices. Great restaurants recommended by staff. Parking is in a garage two blocks away and was 34 euros for two nights:safe and secure garage. Parking space in front of hotel for registering and for unloading/loading luggage. Great safe neighborhood. Will definitly stay there again our next trip to Florence.
Traveller's tip
Avoid Buca Lapi restaurant.had reservation but table next to prep area.Full view of kitchen:saw chefs dropping things, licking fingers, wiping faces w/out washing hands! It cost us over 150eu for the "priveledge" of eating in this restaurant.

Great hotel & lovely staff
This was a lovely hotel with very helpful & friendly staff. The hotel is about 15-20min walk to the Duomo so slightly out of the centre of the city but its a very straight forward route so wasnt an issue. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Buy your tickets for the Uffizi Gallery or other galleries either online or hotel staff could pre book for you in advance, this will save you having to join a very long queue to buy tickets on the day. Do the Duomo late in the afternoon again queue is not so long but sadly the inside is not as dramatic as the outside, the 463 step climb to the top of the dome is well worth the effort!! Enjoy
