best location
We LOVEd this hotel because of it’s location. It has a beautiful restaurant right by the Water and a private beach with bar-service, beautiful walkways and amazing private gardens, a hidden gazebo (or Green house) where you can go and chill out .... simply beautiful and very romantic. The rooms are not too fancy but very clean!!... If you are planning to stay in your room all day with room-service...this is not for you! This place is perfect for people who enjoy the out-doors, a beautiful setting, I would and will return to this beautiful place some day!!

Can’t wait to go back!
Hotel Camin Carmegna is a little gem right on the banks of Lago di Maggiore. The hotel has it’s own restaurant set on a terrace overlooking the lake and the food is lovely (but note there are no menus in English - only Italian or German). There are quite large grounds to explore with sunlounges and umbrellas on the shore of the lake, a sunroom for some quiet time, or a spa - again, on the banks of the lake with uninterrupted views across the lake. Our room was lovely but there was no fan or aircon which made it a bit stuffy. The hotel is not within a town so not walking distance to shops, other restaurants or bars but Luino is a short drive away. Try the "Non solo Pizza Ristorante" in Luino for fantastic pasta with seafood!
