Hotel Great - Food not so great
Great location, Nice Hotel and great staff but dine away from the Hotel. Arriving late we ate a light dinner at Louis Bs. Dinner was cold, had to be sent back and even when "warmed" was not good. We had appetizers on the Concierge level and although presentation was nice, the food was not good so we dined off property.

Stunning Views of Cape Town Waterfront
Stayed for 4 nights from the 24th September 2009, on our 3rd visit to Cape Town but the first to this hotel. Paid an excellent price on Expedia and upgraded at a nominal amount to the Executive Club 18th floor. Ricardo at the front desk deserves a special mention as he went out of his way to make our stay special throughout the whole 4 days. Our Room was directly on the floor below their restaurant, and the whole of Cape Town Waterfront was set out before us. Both day and night a stunning view. The nightly reception was an added bonus and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Breakfast on the 19th floor was also a pleasant experience with a good choice of food and great service. We do however write this knowing that we stayed when the hotel was not very busy, so hope the sort of service we received can be maintained at busy times. Hotel Shuttle to the waterfront every 30 minutes until 11.15pm a very useful service.
Traveller's tip on dining
Although Baia Seafood Restaurant is excellent, great value is Den Ankers, particularily their famous Carbonades Flamandes (Beef stew cooked in Trapist Beer)

Westin Grand Arabella - Cape Town, South Africa
We enjoyed our recent stay at the Westin very much. We spent 3 nights and found it to be a great hotel. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. Our standard room was very confortable. The breakfast that was included in our rate was delicious. Hotel also had free internet service in the lobby. The fitness center on the 19th floor was also great and provided a fantastic view of Table Mountain and the waterfront. We highly recommend the Westin as a place to stay while visiting Cape Town.
