Come for the Spa Services
We chose this hotel because of the pool with the beautiful view of San Gimignano, the pool being our mid-trip relaxation treat. We did not indulge in the spa services, but I wish we had taken better advantage of this. It was a very quiet stay - a little too quiet for our 13 year old! I thought the price was high for the experience, unless you’re there for the special spa treatments. Probably not a good choice for families with children.

great place to stay near San Gimignano
Lovely hotel. The older section was updated 1998 and another section was built just a few years ago. We stayed in the older section which was detached from the main hotel. It was quiet and very nice.The spa is very pretty and was great b/c it rained when we were there so that was something else to do. It’s only 8-10 min drive to San Gimignano. Make reservations beforehand for the spa if you want to get a treatment while you are there. Nice and helpful staff. Great "american shower" where the shower head is on the wall not just a hand sprayer :-)

An oasis in Tuscany
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel which offerred everything we needed . It provided top class service if a touch stuffy but delivered peace and quiet with top class facilities . Overall prices were in the highest bracket particularly the restaurant and the range of facilities in the wellness centre - little used by ourselves by choice - were as good as any we’ve experienced. if you’ve deep pockets and are looking for something different with emphasis on peace then this is the place for you . Not recommended however for children which fortunately were not in evidence during our stay which was for two weeks in early September 2008. We would certainly go back.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Close to San Gimignano which has a limited but selection of good family owned restaurants. Visitors must organise a car as there is no hotel courtesy bus which was a shame.Close to Sienna and Florence both great cities to visit. Main gripe we had no full length mirror in our upgraded room - big no no for a female traveller.
