Great place to stay

The Skt. Petri’s location is in a nice neighborhood and is in easy walking distance around the city and all the major sights. The design of the Skt Petri was cool, but overwhelmingly so. Our original room which was a medium room was clean and okay though we were offered a chance to upgrade to a larger room when we checked in, and they moved us to a large room with a balcony which was really nice. The bathroom was nice but lacked a shower curtain. The staff were nice but seemed more geared towards the business traveler rather then a tourist. It actually was quiet like a museum.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Try to get a room on the 6th or 7th floor. Breakfast at the hotel is pretty expensive, but the ground floor café is nice. Its a quick 5 min walk to the Norreport train station which takes you to the airport in 20 minutes. I recommend taking a canal tour.

Best Location--But Somewhat Disappointing

This hotel is billed at Copenhagen’s first "design hotel" and in Denmark I expected that to really mean something. Unfortunately, I didn’t see it. While the design of the hotel is certainly above a chain, I was extremely underwhelmed with the decor of the hotel’s public areas. My room, a small single, was as expected very small, but pretty well appointed for a small room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom spacious enough with two sinks(and stocked with really nice Ren products). The only drawback was the shower, which like so many European hotel rooms had neither a curtain nor was it a stall. My room had a small balcony with a great view of the Round Tower. The service was unimpressive but cordial. It took a hour and a half for the bellman to bring my bags (and then only after a second call). One evening, I ordered a sandwich for dinner via room service, and all I got was the sandwich on a plate! No napkin, no utensils, no condiments, no water... The major upside is Skt Petri’s location, which can’t be beat. It’s a 5 minute walk from the Norreport train station, from which you can get the metro, region train or s-tog. The Indre By/Latin Quarter location is really charming and convenient.

Traveller's tip

If you’re not on a tight budget, this is still a good place to stay, especially given the hotel’s excellent location. Just don’t expect to be bowled over by the place. Also, while the website says the hotel has a gym, it turned out to be a very small room with a few pieces of equipment jammed in, so if having a gym is important to you, look elsewhere.

Excellent

Excellent value. Breakfast and dinner buffet. Older hotel so don’t look for air conditioning except in the higher priced rooms on the top floor. We didn’t have a problem and it was very warm during the day.

Traveller's tip

Look for local carts selling sausages, they are great!
