Very Impressed with the hotel, service, room and the view
This is a gem right at the doorstep of St Marks Sq. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. The room was beautiful, clean, and what a view from your window. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bellisima!!
Arrived to an english speaking and very friendly concierge, who apologised that the room we had booked was now unavailable and would we accept a junior suite! Tough one that! So room was spacious and clean with lovely view of the bridge of sighs. Continental breakfast was adequate although we were craving a cooked breakfast after a few days. No tea/coffee making facilities but this seems to be general with all Venice hotels.
Venice can be very expensive so it really pays to venture away from St Marks Square especially for Coffee and food. Be very careful about what is Murano Glass as there are many copies. Watch out for the free boat trips to Glass factories as they put a lot of pressure on you to buy, and some products can be very expensive.

Great location, but dont expect a hotel feel
Loved our stay. Very friendly staff. Perfect location for tourist spots. Not so good if you know where to stay in venice and dont want to be in the tourist drag. Very lucky with fabulous room overlooking canal. There are no facilities, just breakfast in room. The "restaurants" are public (you get a discount), one we tried wasnt very good - probably because they are so central (didnt try the wine bar). Jacuzzi thing on bath didnt work, a touch of shabby chic, but all part of the charm. Would definitely recommend if your not expecting a red carpet in a new build!
Traveller's tip on nightlife
Lively local bar for evening drink near Rialto Market (walk from bridge through market, near river - into square) Best food and lively atmosphere at OK price was in Campo S. Marghetita (in Dosduro). Cheapest beer close to centre: Campo S. Maria Formosa, by canal (surpise). Sz. Z. Zanipaolo nice 4 coffee/lunch in day. Best pizza close to S. Marco: just over bridge opne up from Ponte dei Sospiri
