Friendly, quiet, clean
Hotel Europa is ideally located for a relaxing visit to Ischia, not in the most buzzy place, but near enough to a range of restaurants, shops & interesting places. We were very impressed with how clean the hotel was kept and at the good value evening meals (not the "best" culinary experience, but hearty and tasty). There was help at hand for any questions about Ischia attractions & travel, and it never felt like we were being too much trouble. Breakfast was a decent buffet. The pool was small but adequate. My husband enjoyed using it, but I couldnt as the water is from a thermal spring, so not advised during pregnancy. It was still nice to laze around, with drinks available. Useful library too. Would recommend.

Overall very pleasant and good value for money
we went half board. the food was good considering we are vegetarians. They really put themselves out to make sure we had what we liked. Only draw back is that there are no lifts and we had to lug our suitcases up 2 steep flights of stairs. This was not welcome after a long journey. Otherwise no complaints. Thermal pool is a bonus in a 3 star hotel.
Traveller's tip on dining
Excellent take away pizza at Il Sole Mio. Only 3 euros for a take qway margarita.

Good base to see the island
Small family run hotel. A little old fashioned, but friendly and helpful staff. We were there for a week in July and could have done with air conditioning, as only ceiling fan in bedroom, so sleeping was difficult. Thermal pool hot and interesting.
