Perfect location; beautiful hotel

The hotel is perfectly located for visiting the old city (just a 5 minute walk). In addition, the main street in front of the hotel is loaded with outdoor cafes with excellent food. For the price, you can’t beat this hotel.

bait and switch on room size

This hotel was very convenient to Old Quebec, however, the hotel did not provide us with the room we purchased on Hotels.com. We reserved a room with a king or queen bed, we upgraded so that we would get a larger room size. When we arrived, we were early and the room was not ready, so we put our bags in the storage room and went and spent the day sight seeing. When we came back at 4 pm, we got our room key and it was the smallest room I ever had with regular double bed, but no queen or king. When I went to the desk, they told me that whatever is reserved from hotels.com or expedia is not honored or guaranteed, that all rooms are the same size. This was a lie. I was kind of ticked off, especially after the wonderful experience in Montreal at Hotel DuFort, but Quebec City was so much fun, I did not spend much time in the room anyway. I will, in the future, however, confirm the room size directly with the hotel in advance to make sure I am getting what I think I paid for.
