Well worth a second visit
Very pleased with this hotel. Central location within 15mins walk to the Tower with lots of bars and eating places within 5 minutes. Good breakfast selection and wide choice. Staff very helpful. We would stay here again.
South of the river has lower cost eating areas more in line with the student population. Ask for a walk through of any menu in English if your Italian isnt too good.

A little disappointing
An easy walk from the train station although the area is very scruffy (grafitti etc). The hotel reception okay. Staff very efficient and friendly. Sadly, our hotel room (219), for our three night stay, had a pretty awful colour scheme (green paintwork and orange walls). It also has a connecting door which meant that we could hear everything being said, and done(!) in the adjoinging room. The bathroom can only be described as a cupboard with facilities. Any person of "larger" proportions would have difficulty in the tiny shower cubicle and you have to stand between the bidet and wc to dry yourself. Breakfast is okay but the "hot" offerings were rarely hot. We went to breakfast at 07.00 on the day of departure(breakfast served between 07.00 and 10.30) and the bacon and egg was so cold they were totally inedible. The "hot" water for making tea was tepid, so again made it impossible to drink. On a plus side you get a pair of complimentary slippers. The mini bar prices are good (beer E2.90 - cheapest anywhere - in a bar expect to pay significantly more) and water is comp- limentary. The huge bed was comfortable, extra pillows and a blanket were in the wardrobe. Hotel shuttle for the two of us to the airport was 12 euros. The journey takes just a few minutes so if you feel like taking the bus with your suitcase you will save lots of cash. Okay for a one night stay but no longer .. sorry Bologna!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get an early flight and stay 1 night in Pisa get the train to Florence Rail system is brilliant/ reasonable so use it. You can walk to all the sights in Florence. The buses good. Go to Fiesole by bus to look over Florence. A hike up a steep hill, but what a view. Eating out very expensive with the euro and pound are equal in value. 2 pastas + "cheap" bottle of wine for lunch. Over 65s get free admission to museums etc, dont forget to carry it.

Nice hotel, well placed.
I spent 5 nights at this hotel combining a weekend holiday with my husband with a business trip. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming and the hotel clean and comfortable. My only critisism would be that, other than breakfast, you cannot eat in the hotel - seems common in hotels there. Although recommended restaurants were great it would have been nice to be able to eat in my room on the nights after my hubby went home. Other than that it was fine.
