Strengths and weaknesses
Stately hotel with most staff being very very helpful. Food was excellent. Incredible efforts to maintain the beauty of the building although some updating is needed with rooms, especially older beds must be replaced. If you like the feel of stepping back in time and admire the beauty of early 1900 or before architecture, it would be worth it. But dont make the mistake of turning on the TV and trying to navigate channels that you may end up paying for, especially movies you never watched. The gal at the front desk was inflexible on removing it from the bill.

Grand Hotel Krakow
The location near the main square was excellent. The front desk needed someone who was a bit more fluent in English and beef up there concierge assistance. The breakfast was so-so. We took the hotel drivers to the Salt Mines and Auschwitz and Ted was great. The first room we received was about a block walk from the front desk winding around and around taking 2 elevators. We said it was not adequate and they gave us a closer room to the elevator lobby. Check out the location of your room before taking your luggage!

Disappointed
I was quite disappointed. Although requested a non-smoking room the room we were given reeked of smoke. At least 3 nights we did not get a turn-down service. Tea/Coffee facilities would have been an asset to the room. Hotel decor was very nice and staff very helpful
