Good value for the price
The hotel has an excellent location within walking distance to the train station, the old city, grocery store and a laundramat. The staff was very helpful. Good breakfast.

Okay but far from city and no swimming pool
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was fine. The downsides being 1)15 minutes walk from historic Lucca and 2) a disappointing lack of swimming pool for a 4 star hotel, considering that the place is sweltering hot most of the year.

Would use again
Comfortable if not over-large room. Staff helpful with advice and directions. About a mile from the town walls, so factor the extra two miles in if you decide to sight-see on foot. Near the Autostrada junction, so one side of the hotel liable to be rather noisy.
