Wonderful, Enchanting and Relaxing Place

This was our second trip to this wonder, enchanting and relaxing little hotel. We stayed in the bungaloes that have private pools. The hotel staff is great as is the food at the restaurant. If you are looking to get away from the crowds in Cancun, this is the place. You can avoid the crowds of day trippers from Cancun by getting to the ruins of Chichen Itza before the arrive and you can also see the light and sound show at night that comes free with your admission to the ruins. Totally tranquility is what you get here - not light or sound pollution. The view of the stars at night is unsurpassed. Fantastic stay!!!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Rent a car to get to this hotel. Renting a car in Mexico is much easier than you would think and the road to Chichen Itza is well marked and easy to get to. Your credit card should cover the LDW and CDW insurance and the only insurance you would have to purchase is the mandatory peronal liability, which is fairly cheap.

Great hotel, nearby the ruins

Nice place to stay, to eat and to walk to Chichen Itza. Wonderful surroundings and quiet in the night. People serving there were nice, gentle and always smiling. You must stay there if you like a nice place.

The only way to see Chichen Itza!

What a fantastic hotel in a unique and beautiful location. Being able to walk right into the ruins early and then relax in one of the beautiful pools during the heat of the day, avoiding the crowds, and then see the nightly light show would be reasons enough to stay at Mayaland. But the grounds, walking paths through the flowering jungle, great rooms (we were upgraded to a jacuzzi suite), and outstanding restaraunt were even better than I had thought! We’ll definitely go back again!

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

The ruins at Chichen Itza are a must see, despite not being able to climb the pyramid, as we did years ago. A stay at Mayaland is by far the best way to enjoy this uniquely historic area.
