Good Value Hotel

Hotel is excellent value. Accomodation is quite basic but clean. Good bar with reasonable prices and good breakfast. Very good location and you can ski from/to almost outside the hotel. Rooms at the front can be a bit noisy at night.

Good location exactly as I imagined

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted. right in the middle of 1850 we were hardly ever in our room as maxed our time out enjoying the slopes and then the nightlife. The room was on the first floor at the front so a bit noisy at night. The room was supposed to be a superior not sure if it was but it was certainly good for cupboard space. There were only 2 faults I had, one was that we could not open the balcony door so could not chill drinks, the second was that the toilet was a bit smelly as when you flushed the loo the water splashed onto the linolium so caused a bit of a funny smell that had probably built up over a fair amount of time. If the hotel can address those two very minor points it is good value for money and the staff were very welcoming and hard working - I read a review before we went that said "it does what is says on the tin" and I would echo that 100%. It is not a frills hotel, but if you want that you can find lots of places to go and have a good drink without paying their prices for staying in those hotels.

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

Choose Bel Air at 1650 or The Pilatus at Altiport at 1850 for good value lunch time dining and avoid Cap d’Horn or Chalet Pierre unless you are a millionaire!

Budget on the Ski Slopes!

The Olymic Hotel is satisfactory. That’s what they offer for the incredibly low priced rooms. Our room was on the front side of the hotel and throughout the night you could clearly hear every car, bus and person who walked by (especially the 2am crowd!). So even though there is a view of the mountains on that side - I would suggest demanding a room on the backside of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty - the hotel bar offers 2 for 1 drinks from 6-8pm, the staff is friendly! The rooms have enough space for all your belongings and are passably clean. There is a ski locker downstairs. (Note there is no elevator!) There is a free ski shuttle in Courchevel - but staying here you didn’t need to use it. It was also easily accessed from the Moutiers’ bus. If you are looking for a basic bed & breakfast then this is the right place - if you want luxury - keep looking!
