just fine
In general the hotel is nice, at a very good location, close to downtown and shopping malls..There were some small points though which disappointed me like some staff at front office.I arrived late at night and asked them to arrange a pick up from the airport for my friend,I didnt know the flight number. So I had to call the airport myself to find it out which took me quite long time before I could go to rest.Room service and Housekeeping on the contrary impressed me.They were really fast in handling orders..

Spotty Customer Service
Arrived early and paid for early check in - no hot water. After three trips up the 140+ steps in the heat and being very tired from a long journey - finally had running hot water. Great service at breakfast and in the Italian restaurant as well as good food. The taxi attendant was really nice, as well as the shop owners in the hotel. Also, very well organized for early morning departure breakfast bags. Extremely rude service at one of the pools. The finale: I had to haul my luggage up to the lobby in the heat, at night and alone, to ensure that I did not miss my taxi to the airport. This was the case even though I booked a pick up service with the concierge many hours earlier in the day and asked them to pick up my bags at 10 p.m. and I had a 10:30 p.m. taxi. I called twice and they never showed up.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Snorkeling was awesome, although they should have a lifeguard on duty.

Not as impressed as last year
We stayed at the Renaissance last year and decided to go back. This was our 6th time in Sharm and first time we had stayed at the same hotel twice. Mostly, it seems that the hotel had gone backward in that time. Service still largely good but it felt tired and somehow less classy. Some nice touches like live music most nights by pool area but one huge problem is that no-one sleeps Wednesday night if their room has the misfortune to be on the south side of the hotel. The hotel next door has house music blasting out from 12.30am to about 2.30am. When we complained the Renaissance said it is nothing to do with them and its only one night a week!
Ask for a room on the north side of the hotel!
