Better than expected
I’d read some reviews on hotels.com that weren’t that great about this hotel, but decided to book it anyway since I got such a great price. The hotel turned out to be great. The room was very nice, modern and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and they let us check in at 10am!

Would go back anytime
Very clean, modern and quiet hotel very conveniently located in the middle of all the cafes, restaurants, shops etc. of St. Kilda. Just a short walk from the beach, pier and local penguin colony. Staff were friendly and helpful and room service was fast. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I was in Melbourne.
Go to see the penguins at dusk coming back from the sea to their nests. It’s wonderful

Near the St. Kilda Pier
The hotel changed its name from The Marque Hotel to Urban. We had a difficult time finding it since our cab driver wasn’t aware of the name/ownership change. Our room was small, with 2 twin beds. It was alright for us since we were rarely in the room. The hallways are narrow. On a positive note, the hotel did offer 2 iMacs in the lobby with free internet access. That was a good bonus.
