Weekend in Tallinn
The Baltic Hotel Vana Wiru is in an excellent location right in the heart of the Old Town. The staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are very spacious. It was a little disappointing to only have a shower and not a bath as well. The room I had was on the fourth floor and faced a wall, so not the best if you are looking for a nice view. Besides that, i was very pleased with my stay and found the hotel to be good value.

Good value for money
the presentation of this hotel is a little bit shabby and dated, however the helpfullness of the staff makes up for this. The beds are comfortable, but a little small. However, given how inexpensive this hotel is and in such a prime location, it still represents good value for money. The hotel has Finnish and Turkish spa which may be hired for an hour for approx 20 euros for up to 6 people. These quality of these facilities were quite a pleasnat surprise....Ive stayed at much more expensive hotels which would really envy facilities as good as these.
Clazz is a very nice restauant approx 100 meters away, serving up top notch food and great live music which does not overpower. There is great attention to detail throughout - from the decor, helpfulness of staff, various semi-secluded seating areas and rest rooms.

Cheap, Cheerful and Central
Myself & a friend stayed here 23rd-25th Aug 2008. On our arrival, they gave us the key to a double room and not a twin that Id booked. The double was absolutely tiny, couldnt have swung a cat even if wed wanted to. We went back down to reception, they apologise profusely and gave us the keys to a superior twin room on the top floor. It was huge compared to the last room and made our stay alot more comfortable. The staff were very helpful, there was a good choice at breakfast and the hotel was close to the main town hall square and local attractions. I feel as though we got good value for money at this hotel and Id recommend it.
Traveller's tip on nightlife
Id heard that Tallinn was popular with British stag dos and Fins going over to get cheap booze for the night, so was very surprised when we couldnt find any kind of night "life" on a Saturday night! After trapsing all over the old town in search of it, we concluded that their idea of nightlife must be different to ours, so dont expect to go over and party hard, its alot more relaxed than England.
