Lindner Grand Hotel Beau Rivage

Overall happy with stay but hope you can improve on housekeeping

We were gone from the room all day and the room was never serviced. We called the front desk to ask them to send housekeeping and they said housekeeping was gone but they sent the front desk person to make the bed. We never got new towels. It’s not exactly the service level we expected for the hotel. The breakfast tasted wonderful and the service was great -- very worth the price. A good hotel choice for the off season because the indoor pool makes a nice activity if its raining. Lots of lounge chairs. Easy parking and location to the train. We did multiple fondues in the town and the hands-down best was at The Alpes restaurant. The chinese place across the street is also very good. The area is beautiful with many walks and hikes.

better than expected

Read many reviews before I went. Most reviews were about this hotel being old and needed a renovation. When I arrived, the room was surprisingly nice, with an separate sitting room attached to it , in addition to the sitting area already included inside of the hotel room. Since one half side of the entire hotel is being renovated, I was even thinking maybe the side where I was staying is already done remodeling. That’s how new it seemed. ( but from the carpet you can still tell it is not newly remodeled) The breakfast was indeed pretty good , like all the reviews said. It was a buffet style, and all the dishes were not cheaply made . You can see they did put some nice effort to make the buffet descent. The only thing is that the help at the hotel counter was not exactly professional. They were young people , and don’t seem to have the motivation to help. For example, if they don’t know the answer to a question, they just say no, instead of making a phone call to find out the answer , which is real easy because they speak the language. I say that’s because the hotel did not really train them properly. I would recommend this hotel - it is a good value when they had 3 for 2 pricing !

Wish we could have stayed a month - Super / Superb

We stayed at Beau Rivage in Interlaken 5 nights and, with SwissRailPass took 5 rail expeditions to the nearby Mountains, Zermatt / Matterhorn, Montreau, and Bern. For this purpose Beau Rivage is Superb. We also tremendously enjoyed the bountiful Buffet Breakfast, the (squeaky clean) swimming pool with view of the Jungfrau, the (naked) sauna/steam room and the friendly helpful service. We would also like to add that Interlaken gets "short shrift" in the travel books.
