Economical and reliable

I stay there regularly. The location is convenient, the rooms always clean, and the staff polite and helpful. The only problem is breakfast: don’t count on it, especially on Saturday, unless you get up early, as the dining room is too small for the numbers using it.

A friendly welcome costs nothing

It is always nice to be made welcome, and so little effort. When we checked in, the entire transaction was done without the receptionist removing his phone (personal call) from his ear, and barely so much as eye contact. After that, the rest, which may have been ok, seemed pretty poor. The room was small, but just adequate. Not especially clean. The bathroom likewise. But hotels like this are plentiful, so if they want my custom, an effort is required.

Convenient to train stations

The reception was pleasant, and allowed their guests to leave luggage in a separate room, which is a valuable service for those taking the train. It was convenient to the train stations Kings Cross and St. Pancras. The rooms were rather small and had no fan, but with the window open we were fine, not too hot. The room was clean as was the bathroom.
