my amazing experience at Erguvan hotel
Such an amazing place. Close to every interesting place in town. This hotel make you feel like you are living there, in Stanbul .Every mornig the view of the Blue Mosque while having your breakfast. Clean is not enough for the state of this hotel, it is more than that. The staf was very helpful, very , very helful, with your trips around town, with your fares, with taxi prices. Anything you need , they will be always gratful to help with.,Iif I decide to come back to Istanbul, I wouldnt hesitate to book the same hotel. And I higly recomend you to have the same experience. The rest come alone with the culture. Enjoy your visit to ISTANBUL.

Quiet, clean, helpful, perfect location
The rooms are a little below a 4-star in Western Europe, but they are clean and everything works. The best thing about the Erguvan is the fabulous terrace for breakfasts overlooking the Marmora sea, with the Blue Mosque behind you. We found the evening restaurant service there was also by far the best of all the restaurants we tried in the area, and very reasonably priced.

Great hotel, but location is a but noisy
Staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel amenities are good. It was great to have a lovely soaky bath after a week touring Turkey in rooms with only very basic showers! Breakfast on the terrace is pure delight, good buffet with homemade cakes and breads and stunning views out to sea. Also great for a pre-dinner drink to catch the sunset. Our room was on the first floor so it was directly level with the main road which carries traffic out of the area. So at peak times it was very busy with coach and taxi engines on tick over for hours with lots of beeping when tempers became frayed! Dont overlook the areas nearby for eating out, we particularly liked the Sofa restaurant. Make sure you get good directions to the hotel if, like us, you decide to find it on foot from the Sultanahmet tram stop. Its very decptive and the pavements and pathways arent made for suitcases - even those on wheels!!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Sultanahmet is fine, but gets expensive - quite a tourist trap. We liked Beyoglu. Trams are great so you can get there much cheaper than taxi. Buy tram tokens at the Jetton before travelling, get off at Karakoy. Use the nearby Tunel an underground inclined railway to get up steep hill. You will need Tunel tokens from the booth - about 50p each way. Take the old tram for a nostalgic journey up through the central street then wander down enjoying the shops and the lovely Ara Cafe.
