Excellent good value choice for Stanford and Palo Alto
I was visiting Stanford Medical Centre for 2 weeks and needed somewhere comfortable and not too expensive to stay. This hotel is really good value for money. Room was of a generous size with it’s own air con/heater. Large TV , fridge, microwave, coffee machine and iron/ironing board in all rooms. Breakfast is pretty basic but you do get fresh fruits. Next to a Fish Market restaurant (pricey) and McDonalds. To get to Stanford University and Medical Centre, you could take the free Marguerite buses. There are about 8 different lines and you can catch the C-line from California Avenue which is a 10 minute walk away. Also on California Avenue, there are at least a dozen restaurants and at the end of the avenue, a Caltrain station, to get into San Francisco. Bus 22 stops outside the hotel and that gets you directly to downtown Palo Alto for more shopping , dining and transport options. Nearest coin operated laundary is 15 minute walk away on El Camino Real itself. From San Francisco airport you can arrange a shared van transport to the hotel for USD20.
If you are spending some time visiting Palo Alto, you would almost certainly want to visit San Francisco in your free time. Please note that the Caltrain service to San Francisco only runs hourly during the weekend. On Sundays, the first train from Palo Alto is only at 0837 and the last train from San Francisco back on Sundays is at 9.15pm. Another option of getting into San Francisco is the KX express bus especially if you need to get to San Francisco early and get back late.

Comfortable, Clean, Convenient.
We have stayed at Super 8 Palo Alto before and we find the beds comfortable. The rooms are clean and well kept. The staff seems competent and there is a modest but adequate continental breakfast served in the office each morning. Finally it is convenient to restaurants and shopping and Stanford where our son was attending. We would stay here again.
