Close to Piazza Garibaldi, station and buses
The hotel was great value, friendly and helpful staff, a good location, with a reasonably priced and enjoyable restaurant nearby. There was an evening minibus to and from their city centre hotel near the Castel Nuovo. Recommended.

Great base for Naples area
The hotel was located near the train stations, which meant it was a great base for touring the Naples area - particularly Pompeii and the Amalfi coast. The hotel room was small but kept very clean, and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was additional to the room rate so instead we tried the local cafes, which provided great coffee and a range of breakfasting options. Didnt spend too much time in Naples, which appeared a bit grotty (and the traffic is mad!), but had a great meal at Il Posto Accanto on the front.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The hotel also offered a free shuttle to and from Naples city centre (between the two Mercure hotels in Naples), which was extremely useful. Take the Circumvesuviana train (located adjacent to the Central train station) to Pompeii and to Sorrento (where you can pick up a regular bus service to Positano and the Amalfi coast). The train and bus are reliable and amazingly cheap!

Good location for passing through
The hotel is good value for money and has everything you need for a short stay in Naples, particularly recommended as a hotel for those passing through who want easy access to transportation. The hotel is located just off the Piazza Garibaldi where there are busses to and from the airport and port as well as trains to the coast. The train station is only a few minutes away, which was our main reason for selecting it. The hotel itself is tucked away from the main Piazza which is dirty and tatty and has a lot of street vendors and people and busses and cars and general noise. Hotel is well signposted from the Piazza and we didnt struggle to find it. Hotel staff spoke English competently and there is a free shuttle to the other hotel in the group which is in the centre of town for those who want to explore a prettier part of Naples. Rooms are of an adequate size and freshly painted with good linen. Mini bar stocked with water (good in summer heat!) and we had a quaint balcony overlooking the street. One negative - although the hotel claims to have room service between set hours, when we called for this during those hours, we were told it was "not possible" with no details given due to language barrier. We only had one meal there outside in the courtyard- a Caprese salad and it was fresh and adequate.
