Nice hotel
Lovely hotel, very clean, close to subway station, quite nice restaurant, really surprise me for the service and food.

Welcome Hotel, Essen
Ideally situated 5 mins from main rail station, and close to the Christmas markets - which was the purpose of our stay. Staff at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Food of excellent quality, and the Suite we enjoyed was first class - although the glass wall between bathroom and lounge area of the room a little voyeuristic - blids were available. Highly recommended for business and leisure travellers.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Go to Centro in Oberhausen. Twenty minutes on the train then three stops on any bus or tram from the stop on the left hand side as you leave the station. Says it’s the largest in Europe. Not true as looks very much like a small version of Meadowhall - complete with Oasis food court, but well worth a visit.

Would go again
A clean modern hotel within five minute walk of main city shopping areas. We found the staff to be very helpful and reception staff all had excellent English. Had a huge range of different things on the breakfast buffet, from meuslis and yoghurts to sausage and eggs whith fruit and cakes somewhere in between, Our room was what you would hope for in a modern hotel, smart, clean, comfortable and well serviced. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
